Walking the Awesomes!

I am pretty stoked right now! I have been eyeballing double strollers for a while… like the entire 16 months since we found out we were expecting another baby. The first decision I made was that I was pretty sure I wanted a tandem (front and back) not a side-by-side. Then I found some sit n stand models, where the back seat converts to a spot that an older child can stand and ride. And I thought, “Interesting. The boy would like that, and he’s just going to keep getting bigger anyway…”Then I flip-flopped back and forth on all my decisions for awhile.

I started price and review checking specific models. I thought I was pretty sold on a Baby Trend Sit N Stand… but I wanted a deal. I checked sale prices, I checked craigslist, facebook garage sales, ebay… This wasn’t working in my favor.

Then I saw the Joovy Caboose Stand On Tandem Stroller, and it was on sale! It’s not exactly what I was looking for… but the important things were there. According to the reviews it’s more lightweight and folds up better than the Sit N Stand. It has the same seating options (or the ones I would use with the boy and the girl – I don’t need the ability to attach 2 infant seats) in a slightly different configuration, and the rear seated position has a buckle – something I hope the Sit N Stand has but have not been able to verify. And the handle is supposed to be pretty tall – which my husband will be happy about!

The rear seat does look a little crowded, but the big kid will probably choose to stand more often than not, especially as he continues to get bigger. We do still have two separate strollers, so if comfort is an issue we can use those when we need to and this for times when I want to take them out by myself – something I really haven’t been able to do well yet.

It also doesn’t come with a parent tray or rear sun visor of any kind. So I added a couple cheap accessories to my shopping cart (tray, canopy) and now I can’t wait for it all to arrive! I really hope it ends up being a great purchase, I’m having a little bit of purchase anxiety and hope I don’t regret the choice! I’ll be sure to give my review once we’ve had a chance to test it out.

This is how we (used to) roll.

If you have a double stroller, which one did you choose and what do you love/hate about it?
